Early 20th Century Sarouk Mohajeran Carpet
The subtly variegated camel fiel;d displays a beautifully drawn array of cypresses, vases, flowering shrubs and decorative floriate branches. The inscription reads “Castelli-Kazan” two important carpet trading firms in the early 20th century.The midnight blue main border connects fantastic palmettes with double red feathers. The carpet, from the early decades of the 20th century, is very well woven with excellernt pile wool, and is in fine condition.
