Early 20th Century Indian Lahore Paisley Carpet
Billions of botehs densely fill the red field of this evenly woven c. 1920 north Indian carpet. The ivory main border has more botehs sprouting from an undulating vine. The overall concept is closely derived from Persian Saraband carpets, but executed more precisely and on a larger scale. This carpet adds a rich, restrained and unifying element to the appropriate room.
