The arrangement of paired, fringed hexagons on a royal blue ground has been deftly adapted from kilim patterns. An ivory Union Jack motif border is neatly flanked by red and medium blue rosette minors. The weave is moderately coarse, the pile is high and the colors richly saturated on this c. 1890 Kurdish long carpet.
