Mid-19th W. Persian Kurdish Runner Carpet
The eggshell field has a small, precise allover repeat of dots and cloud bands, almost surely derived from a textile, in contrast to the red and dark blue borders with their doubled arabesque patterns. This is a popular design for Kurdish runners and this attractive northwest Persian rug is a good example of the type. In addition, it is in good, floor-able condition.
