Kirman - Lavar #5712
Not all Kerman Lavar carpets have dense designs. The unusual open camel ground of this late 19th century rug sets off the 16 point pend-anted ivory medallion. The Bordeaux red corners emit swirling arabesques. The five narrow borders employ versions of tendrils and palmettes from the infinite Kerman design pool. This southeastern Persian carpet is emphatic in its centrality and focus.
