Early 20th Century Persian Kashan Carpet
This interwar ivory Kashan rug displays a balanced rendition of the palmette and leaf so-called shah Abbas pattern. The weavers worked from as scale paper cartoon under strict supervision.
Botehs are a pleasing addition to this classic design. The ivory border mixes cloudbands and palmettes. The wool is excellent and the knotting is quite fine. The condition is excellent.
