1930s Indian Pictorial Cotton Dhurrie Carpet
Pictorial dhurries of any age are quite rare. The sand field displays two columns each of three hands and-knees figures with peacocks (?) between, detailed in goldenrod, sky blue, brown and straw. Lions in the top border, otherwise frets on the other three. End panels decorated in ashiks and herringbone arrows. Totally unusual, perfect for a wall in a decorating scheme leaning toward the ethnic. Looks South American. Good condition unique antique.
