These six squares constitute what originally was a long narrow runner of seating squares made for Tibetan or Chinese monastery prayer halls. The bright red fields each display double dorje pattern with peony corners, within T-fret poly chrome borders. Although from c. 1920, the style goes well back into the 19th century. Often. these runners are divided into square sections for use on chair seats or made into pillows.
