19th Century Over-Size Caucasian Flat-Weave
One of the largest known antique Caucasian kilims, the weavers have taken what is usually a horizontal pattern of wide bands of medallions and turned it about 45 degrees, resulting in a dynamic , movemented design instead of the more static layout of most, smaller pieces. The color scheme is much wider than usual, with a striking bright yellow diagonal standing out. This rare c.1890 east Caucasian flat-weave carpet will work in any rustic, folk or tribally-inspired interior.
