Firstly, a massive big ups to Haver & Skolnick Architects for recently being inducted in to the New England Home Hall of Fame!
When we look at this sitting area of their design, we can see why. There’s a simplicity to the use of earthy hues and textures that carries its own weight. From the strength of the wood beamed ceiling, to the feel of leather that demands respect but has a gentle hand, the space is effortlessly masculine.
Off white walls grasp the sunlight to brighten the mood, offering a light and airy feel that eschews standard whites. The antique Heriz carpet grounding the area offers comfort through color and character through pattern – its blue field vibrates with an energetic force that complements the strength of the geometric medallion based design.
The warmth of the fireplace makes for a perfect place to sit and read, or contemplate a life well lived.
Many informal carpets from the Heriz region contain well spaced design elements and large scale medallions. Colors come in an array of blues and reds, and often include lovely pinks, greens, and neutrals.
