Early 19th Century English Armorial Axminster Carpet

This is a particularly colourful late Regency period Axminster carpet, with an astonishing double floral and ribbon garland border on ivory. The small, salmon-orange field is anchored by jewel-like corner escutcheons and is asymmetrically filled with swirling acanthus arabesques.
