18th Century French Louis XVI Period Aubusson Carpet
The warm rust-brick field is almost covered by a round, layered central medallion with floral sways and a rose bouquet center, and four exceptionally detailed round corner motives with more swags and acanthus brackets. Tones of ivory, pale green, and straw yellow accent the whole. The narrow light blue border has a staff and winding banderole pattern. Another room, another carpet in your chateau. This antique French carpet also dates c. 1770 and the colors are particularly well preserved.
