1930s French Art Deco Carpet Designed by Maurice Dufrenne
Probably designed by Maurice Dufrenne, this French pile carpet shows his characteristic border collage of grids and flowers, with an ecru field decorated with goldenrod patches and striated fragments which cohere at the centre into a puzzle-pattern with teal accents. 1920s floral Art Deco rather than more hard-edged geometric Deco from the 1930s. Rare in this good condition.
