Mid 20th Century French Art Deco Carpet
From the post-WWII modernist period, this French pile carpet in good condition shows a complex geometric all-over textile pattern of interlocking circles and small orange-rust fat quatrefoils, along with jagged yellow stars. At least two distinct pattern levels. This modern carpet will set off a color explosion in any contempt interior. Good condition.
Pairs of wavy black lines define interlocking circles, horizontals and verticals, with underlying tiny flowers and larger cruciforms form the allover pattern of this postwar, borderless French carpet. There is but the slightest hint of a framing border and for all intents and purposes it can be regarded as a section of an infinite pattern allowing the versatile placement of any modern furniture.
